The Photography Exhibition Rafael Larco Hoyle: the avant-garde of the Pre-Columbian Museum traces the singular journey of the Peruvian archaeologist, founder of the Museo Larco in Lima. These now emblematic photographs shed an original light on the premises of Peruvian archaeology at the beginning of the 20th century, in a context of looting that was then commonplace.
This two-part exhibition continues with the exhibition Motché Paris-Lima: a tribute to pre-Columbian jewelry , where we discover, through the theme of Andean duality, the first exclusive collection of pre-Columbian jewelry created in homage to Rafael Larco Hoyle.
From January 21 to May 30, 2013 , at the Maison des Amériques . 3, rue Cassette, 75006 Paris (Saint-Sulpice metro).
