More than 200 archaeological objects from the prestigious Gold Museum in Bogotá will be on display for the public from July 1 to November 12, 2017.

Colombian pre-Hispanic societies were marked by the remarkable development of metallurgy and goldsmithing. The encounter between these societies and the conquistadors would give rise to the myth of El Dorado in the West, centered around the fabulous tale of a lost city and men covered in gold...

Thanks to the gold objects and adornments, the chiefs and shamans of pre-Columbian societies had the power to transform themselves. They also wore these precious pieces to enhance their prestige and authority. The exhibition offers a universal reflection on the themes of transformation and identity.
