The Val d'Oise Archaeological Museum is hosting the exhibition until September 15, 2019 "From the Mochicas to the Incas" which traces 2,000 years of archaeological history of Peru, at the heart of pre-Inca and Inca civilizations.
The exhibition takes you to Latin America to discover pre-Columbian Peru through the exploration of the mysterious geoglyphs of the Nazca desert and the discovery of the life-size tomb of the Lord of Sipán, whose goldwork pieces from the Moche civilization still fascinate visitors today. The journey continues with the Huari, Tiahuanaco and Chimu peoples and ends in the Inca capital, Cusco, which was the scene of conflicts against the conquistadors...
The exhibition, illustrated by key objects and official reproductions from Peruvian museums, also presents original archaeological collections from the Musée du Quai Branly , whose objects are exhibited alongside contemporary Val d'Oise remains.
This exhibition, borrowed from Caen Expo-Congrès, is presented at the Archaeological Museum of Val d'Oise from October 13, 2018 to September 15, 2019 .
